The Niagara Association of REALTORS® Conducts Political Candidate Survey Relating To Homeownership In Niagara

St. Catharines , ON, October 1, 2019 - Recognizing the importance of the upcoming Federal Election on October 21, 2019, the Niagara Association of REALTORS® conducted a survey of candidates running in the Niagara Region on their approach to the vital ongoing issue of homeownership in Niagara.

As REALTORS®, the Members of the Niagara Association of REALTORS® witness first-hand the anxiety Canadians feel as they look to enter the housing market and the challenges they face when it comes to buying a home. The 2019 Federal Election is our moment to advocate for the policies and solutions we know will make a real difference for Niagara residents, both present and future.

The main issues in the survey included the Home Buyers Tax Credit, the recently implemented mortgage “stress test”, and how candidates would work with all levels of government to ensure a more robust and comprehensive approach to homeownership in the Niagara Region.

The Niagara Association of REALTORS® reached out to multiple candidates running in the Niagara Region from the Liberal Party of Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada, the New Democratic Party, the Green Party of Canada, the People’s Party, the Bloc Quebecois, the Christian Heritage Party, and Independent candidate Mike Strange.

No responses were received from the Conservatives or the Christian Heritage Party.
